This book is written as a teaching and shopping guide for individuals and fully insured groups,
primarily in the State of Connecticut. It is written in general terms and does not include any insurance company names or insurance sales web sites. It is specifically intended to help you understand the basics of health insurance and how insurance plan designs and insurance plan prices are related. After reading the book, about 45 minutes, you should be able to have a meaningful and intelligent discussion with an insurance sales representative, which will help you make sure you buy the proper health insurance plan for your specific situation.
Please note that this book was written in 2006;
prior to the passage of Health Care Reform in 2010.
However, most of the principles in the book still apply
today.
